Shiatsu Therapy in Downtown Toronto

About Shiatsu Therapy

Shiatsu Therapy is a popular Japanese form of massage based on Eastern Medical Theory. Translated it means “Finger Pressure”. Gentle holding pressure is applied to specific points on the body, using the fingers, palms of the hand or elbows. Shiatsu can be given through comfortable loose clothing, as oils are usually not used.

Shiatsu is very relaxing, as it not only acts on the body’s muscles and connective tissue, but also on the nervous system. Therefore, Shiatsu is indicated for many kinds of body pain, such as muscle aches in the shoulders, neck, low back or tendonitis, but also for internal conditions such as stress, anxiety, insomnia, fatigue, headaches, digestive problems, constipation, menstrual problems, or recovery from injury, to name a few.
